Kybella® in Baltimore, MD
Submental fullness, more commonly known as a “double chin,” can leave you feeling self-conscious of your appearance. Kybella™ is the only injectable treatment approved by the FDA for removing excess fat under the chin, leaving a smooth jawline without the need for invasive procedures such as liposuction or surgery. Men and women in the Baltimore, Towson, and Columbia areas looking for treatment with Kybella™ can trust Maryland Center for Facial Plastic Surgery for all their cosmetic needs.
What is Kybella®?
Submental fullness or double chin often disrupts facial balance and results in an aged and heavier look. This can affect men and women of all ages and is caused by a variety of issues including weight gain, genetics, and natural aging. Unfortunately, double chins are often extremely resistant to diet and exercise. Previously, invasive procedures such as liposuction or neck surgery was used to treat this troublesome condition.
Kybella™ is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment available that can permanently reduce the submental fullness and improve your chin and neck profile. Kybella™ contains a naturally occurring molecule called deoxycholic acid which specifically targets and dissolves fat cells. This is administered through a series of small injections in areas of submental fullness caused by excess fat. Kybella™ is a non-surgical option to reduce the double chin and improve the appearance of your neck.
Am I A Good Candidate for Kybella®?
Submental fullness from excessive fat can be difficult to treat with diet and exercise alone. Luckily, minimally invasive injectable treatment with Kybella™ can definitively manage this troublesome area. Kybella™ does not treat excess or loose skin, and cannot be used to treat excess fat in other areas of the neck or face. If you are a man or woman who wants to reduce the appearance of a double chin, you may be a good candidate for Kybella™. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Samuel Hahn today for an individualized assessment and treatment plan to determine if you are a good candidate for Kybella™treatments to start looking and feeling your best.
What Can I Expect from My Kybella® Treatment?
Kybella™ is administered through multiple small injections under the chin during a 20 to 30 minute session. The exact number of injections is determined by the treatment area and your desired aesthetic goals. You may feel a slight pinch during treatment but for those with sensitive skin or concerns about discomfort, a topical anesthetic or ice pack may improve comfort. There is minimal downtime or recovery and you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. You may experience some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin following treatment. These effects should start to fade within a few days of treatment. Multiple treatments are required, given one month apart. It may take two or more treatments to see noticeable improvement. The improved neck profile and youthful appearance should last as the treatment permanently dissolves the fat cells.
How Much Does a Kybella® Treatment Cost?
The cost of Kybella™ will depend on the extent of treatment necessary to achieve the ideal result. During your consultation with Dr. Hahn, we will provide an individualized assessment and give you a clear breakdown of costs.
